George Herring grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho and graduated summa cum laude from Skyline High School in 2010.  Currently he is a senior Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) major at Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Massachusetts. In his free time he builds electromechanical systems, hikes, skis, builds hardwood furniture, forges steel and silver implements, and reads science fiction. As an ECE he has particular interest in MicroElectoMechanical systems and photonic devices. He's always interested in new technology with the potential to improve the world.
